Carlo Classic Loafer – Burgundy

Carlo is a college loafer with a classic line, made from natural buffalo leather and constructed with Blake stitching.

Blake stitching directly joins the upper, insole, and sole through an internal seam in the shoe. It’s a construction that produces a flexible shoe with a cleaner line and a good ability to adapt to the movement of the foot.

The buffalo leather is used in its natural state and subsequently piece-dyed. The shoe is first built in the leather’s natural color, then subjected to drum-dyeing, where water, dye, and fabric softeners penetrate the leather and gradually change its tone and hand feel. The process is completed with a wax finish.

The result is not completely uniform: the grain and the way the leather absorbs the color mean each pair presents slightly different shading — natural variations that are part of the workmanship.

Even the leather sole undergoes a specific treatment: it’s washed with stones to make it more flexible from the very first wears.

It’s a loafer with an elegant yet versatile line, so it can also be worn in leisure time.
